  so i have started down the path of trying to understand evolution, and to get the linear lies that the jws planted in my head out of it.

  i bought an audiobook called "evolution: what the fossils say and why it matters" by donald prothero.

  i heard it recommended on an atheist podcast that i listened to.

  I am comfortable with your belief in Evolution. It is only temporary. There is no need for anyone to "try to change your mind." That will occur naturally when the threshold is exceeded. Good Science.

  All who are familiar with the process of Scientific Discover recognize that Knowledge is required to harness Energy in any form to arrive a a Productive Outcome.

  Life is a process which harnesses Energy in numerous ways to accomplish productive goals.

  Where does this Knowledge originate? Who has devised the system of "laws" which govern the processes of harnessing Energy in its manifest forms?

  While certain Chemical Reactions do occur spontaneously when various molecules are brought together, the Chemical Reactions necessary to support Life cannot occur spontaneously. Much as a Chemist has great difficulty synthesizing molecules which are produced seemingly effortlessly by organs within our bodies or by living plants which extract needed nutrients from the soil and the air.

  How did these organs and plants get such knowledge? Why are they smarter than we when it comes to re-arranging or creating molecules? Why do our organs, or those living plants, not require the synthesis conditions of the laboratory where Chemists synthesize chemicals for commerce at the expense of enormous energy input and often highly toxic environments?

  Can the Religion of Evolution explain where this knowledge or know-how originates?

  As one who is trained in Science and one who examines the tiniest of details, what is one to think?

  Life is a great miracle.

  I have not desire to change your mind. In fact, that is not even possible.

  That you support and defend the Religion of Evolution so zealously does not trouble me at all. You have been granted that freedom and I am definitely in favor of freedom. Believe as you wish.

  When the time is right you will "change your mind." The time isn't yet right.

  In the meanwhile I enjoy reading your opinions on the matter. Very entertaining. Revealing too...

  My transition out of the Religion of Evolution was quite similar to that of Dr. Gary Parker. Once that threshold of knowledge is reached one sees things quite differently. One day all shall experience the thrill of exceeding that threshold. Until then, that many believe and participate in the Religion of Evolution is of no real consequence in a negative sense. In due time all will be straightened out.

  Does anyone at all truly comprehend the Theory of Evolution? With all theories there is a threshold of knowledge which exceeded renders them untenable. I've exceeded that threshold; I know too much to ever revert back to my younger years when, superficially, the possibility of evolution held some small merit.
  

  The Creation from my point of view is far too complex, too diverse, too beneficial to ever have been the result of a spontaneous coming into existence scenario. The evidence of design of "the living" from the smallest of their parts to the wondrous whole is ingenious. From whence does this genius arise? The beauty of our Planet in all its incredible aspects is ingenious as well. The eco-system of our Planet which nourishes and sustains life is quite remarkable.

  I'm not trying to make objections or to change beliefs. I am simply explaining why, from a technical viewpoint, certain things just cannot be assumed, hypothesized or theorized when strong evidence of cognizant design is in evidence. It bothers me not that many believe in evolution or other possibilities. We all have our reasons for believing what we find sensible. I have faith that one day we shall indeed have the answers to all of our questions.

  But what is it about non-creationism which many find so appealing? What is their heart-of-hearts motivation? Is it for the same reason that many (or should one say MANY?) xJws are turned off by the thought that there may really be a Creator and a Heavenly Family?

Do you see the problem here? The tiniest details of the system, and there are many, are so incredibly ingenious! Biological electro-chemistry all tied together with incredible precision, order, reliability and astounding performance potential. The kinds of specifications which make engineers drool.

  i'd like share why i went from being a teenager determined to work in full time service for jehovah my entire life, to now being on here commiserating with you all.

  i use to be an atheist but i now believe in god.

  but i'm not preachy about god.

  We each have our reasons for either "believing" or not. In the final analysis it really isn't too important at the present time. None of us has yet been exposed to the Real Truth About All Things. That time is yet future.

  What is most important now is wanting to embrace all that is good. To develop our ability to Love even those we may think of as our "enemies." To eschew all things that are bad. Most of us seem to have a natural desire to do those very things.

  In due time we'll come to know the Real Truth. In the meantime, the Heavenly Family is not angry with those who do not yet believe. All are loved and all will be made whole.
